What is the William Thomas McKinley Foundation?
Mission
The primary mission of the William Thomas McKinley Foundation for American Music is to support and maintain the musical legacy of American compser William Thomas McKinley through the networkin, publishing, distribution, and recording of his music. Further, the Foundation will owrk with various partners, such as the Boston Public Library, to maintain and expand the reach of an archive of McKinely’s music, writings, and artifacts. A further mission of the Foundation is one of educational outreach: to support younger generations of American composers through the establishment and maintainance of educational scholarships, fellowships, and assistantships. This educational mission will also honor and acknowlledge the enduring legacy of McKinley’s many years as a loved and respected teacher of music during his lifetime.
